We have just released a Java based WebChat alternative to our DeskChat applet. This alternative takes into account our DeskChat and bundles it into a clean web-based Java appliance (WebChat). Due to this, you're required to have Java 6 or higher installed on your computer. You can install Java here.
Because Webchat has just been released on alpha, you may use it without having an account with V5N, which of course is great for those of you that want to try out our network before you register.

Virtual 5 Network is proud to introduce Webchat (alpha)! Webchat is much like Deskchat except it doesn't require you to download anything as it runs using Java from Sun (which majority of computers already have). As it is in alpha at the moment, you do not need to signup to use it. We have spent a lot of time in getting Webchat to look identical to Deskchat and we are glad to be able to let you give it a test! Let us know what you think on our forums and let us know of any bugs or missing features you may come across.
